The story of Fazenda Giori is woven from a love of coffee that spans generations. It began in 1895, when the patriarch Francesco Giori arrived in Brazil. The family, originally devoted to Arabica coffee, has become a proud fourth generation of biodynamic Robusta coffee growers. Since 1997, at Fazenda Giori's current headquarters, the family has been fully dedicated to planting, growing and processing coffee, broadening its expertise and improving with every new harvest.

The current generation of the Famiglia Giori deepened its passion for coffee growing with a profound desire: to build a healthy, healing relationship with the land. This commitment took shape in the adoption of organic and sustainable agriculture, seeking to nourish the soil without harming it and to respect its natural cycles.
In this search for a gentle, non-aggressive way of living alongside the land, the family embraced Biodynamics, a farming philosophy created in 1924 by Rudolf Steiner (founder of Anthroposophy), which became part of the values and goals of this innovative and sustainable journey.
🐝 Self-Sufficiency and a Living Agricultural Organism
The result of this philosophy is a highly sustainable and harmonious way of managing the farm, which is seen as a living, pulsating agricultural organism. Biodynamics is considered the most rigorous organic farming standard in the world, and integration is the key:
Animal Diversity: Sheep, cattle, poultry, pigs and, of course, bees are an integral part of the agricultural organism. The presence of these animals and their diversity express sustainability in practice.
Self-Sufficiency (Integration): Following the principles of biodynamic agriculture, the farm seeks to produce everything it needs within its own boundaries, feeding the soil with manure from its own animals. This ensures self-sufficiency in nourishing and revitalizing the land, establishing the farm as a coherent and cohesive organism.
Bees and Pollination: Fazenda Giori keeps meliponaries (stingless bee colonies) and apiaries, protecting these magnificent pollinators, which in return help the coffee plantation produce higher-quality coffee.
